I chose to include k-pop to the cabinet as i have become more intruiged to korean pop music from my previous intrest in the south asian culture. Although it is still not widely known to the world, it made a break through in 2012 when the one hit wonder "Gangnam style" made everyone buzzing and introduced K-pop to the world of Music. This led to the south korean media industry becoming more popular every day with more korean artists compeating to be at the same level as "PSY". (As Korean pop culture is becoming an increasingly globalized phenomenon and globally popular in many parts of the world allows South Korea to utilize its pop cultural sector to access, tap and break into foreign entertainment markets. By tapping into social networking services and the video sharing platform YouTube, the K-pop industry's ability to secure a sizable overseas audience has facilitated a noticeable rise in the global proliferation of the genre.)-(wikipedia)
In my opinion K-pop has still got a long way to go to be as popular as western music however it could be done.

I chose to include this because being who I am I don't like one specific type of music, I like what I like if that makes sense, this is a pure example of the diversity of my interest in music. The Ink Spots were an African American vocal group who gained international fame in the 1930s and 1940s. Their unique musical style led to the rhythm and blues and rock and roll musical genres, and the subgenre doo-wop. The Ink Spots were widely accepted in both the white and black communities, largely due to the ballad style introduced to the group by lead singer Bill Kenny.

After 1953 (when the band split up) The Ink Spots were forgotten about in generations after. However, thanks to some apperances in modern video games such as the fallout and bioshock franchises, the music from The Ink Spots is known again to a lot of people mostly gamers in modern generations. I think its amazing a group has become known again from the benefits of video games.
I added the artist Eminem to my cabinet because even though he isnt seen as a strong role model due to his history, people can relate to his lyrics like I do and really feel what he is saying. Eminem has made mistakes in the past like everyone does, maybe not as bad but still, I find it fascinating that a man in his position, a man born where he was, worked so hard to come out on top muiltple times.

I envy Eminems impact on the public. With his powerful songs he has gained millions of fans across the world and has become so menacing to a point where other rapers are scared of the lyrics he can come out with.
The eighth child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene along with his elder brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon as a member of the Jackson 5 in 1964, and began his solo career in 1971. In the early 1980s, Jackson became a dominant figure in popular music. The music videos for his songs, including those of "Beat It", "Billie Jean", and "Thriller", were credited with breaking down racial barriers and with transforming the medium into an art form and promotional tool.
